Listening to Nora Jones & Hoop House Dreaming

It is an early Tuesday morning in early March. I'm in my office listening to Nora Jones and looking at plans for a simple hoop house that I will build this Saturday. The warmth not felt since last year is rumored to return this weekend.

I found some simple plans on a blog post by Karl O'Melay, How to Build a Cheap Greenhouse. Karl uses stock panel fencing, cinder block, fence posts, and clear 6 millimeter plastic--all stuff we have laying around the farm.

I have several flats of veggies started resting on bakers racks in my south kitchen window. The artichokes are pushing through nicely and the Marconi Red peppers are starting to peak through as well. I also have Cayenne, Bell, Jalapeno, and Poblano peppers started, one flat of Leeks, and two flats of Egg Plant (Rhim Jhim, Black Beauty, and Rosa Bianca). Spring is near.
