Week 2 Box

I just walked the garden this evening to see what will most likely be in this Saturday's (June 19th) box. Here's what I expect.

  1. New onions
  2. Sugar Snap Peas
  3. Rainbow Chard
  4. Arugula
  5. Giant Chard
  6. Turnips
  7. Radishes
  8. Lettuce Mix
  9. Bok Choy
  10. Sage

Here's a good recipe for using your Bok Choy

Here are a couple of Swiss Chard recipes...

Stuff we need to do this week in the gardens:
  1. Weed, weed and weed. The rain is helping everything grow, including the weeds.
  2. Run the tiller between rows
  3. Transplant grape starts to larger pots.
  4. Plant more Arugula
  5. Plant more snow peas along fence
  6. Plant sunflowers
  7. Plant more popcorn
  8. Plant pumpkins
  9. Replant some of the sweetcorn that was overtaken by weeds. The good news? Some of our sweetcorn will be later in the season. The bad news...some of our sweetcorn will be later in the season.

It's never a requirement at our farm but if any of you get the itch to pull weeds or spend some time in the peace and quiet we'll always welcome volunteers.

Thanks and we'll see you at pick up.

Farmer Dave
